About The Position

The Cook II is a mid-level cook responsible for a variety of cooking methods and cuisines, assisting in all areas of the kitchen including prep, line, grille, and sauté. This position may work in the Banquet Kitchen (serving ballrooms, coffee break stations, and the Associate Cafeteria), Market Restaurant (world fair cuisine buffet), Albero Restaurant (classic Italian cuisine), or Ember Restaurant (Latin Steakhouse). The role requires full availability and is a full-time position with a pay rate of $20.25 per hour.

Requirements

• Two years of cooking experience in a commercial kitchen is required.
• Above average knife skills.
• Basic Food Safety certification required within 30 days of starting position.

Nice To Haves

• A la carte kitchen experience preferred.
• Culinary school preferred.
• Experience in a kitchen with guest contact, scratch cooking, high volume highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food and menu items according to standard recipes.
• Receive and put away food requisitions, checking for food product quality and amount.
• Inspect all refrigeration and dry storage for proper handling and rotation.
• Ensure that stations are set up for service, are clean, and that all food items are properly covered and stored at the end of the shift.
• Ensure that kitchen stations and functions are properly broken down and that reusable items are returned to the main kitchen and put on proper shelves.
• Assist in other kitchens within the hotel as needed, including Banquets, buffet restaurants, a la carte restaurants, or social venues.
