About The Position

The Cook II position is for a Garde manger at The Westin Bonaventure Hotel & Suites. The role prepares and supervises food across the restaurant, café, room service, employee cafeteria, and banquets. The Cook II helps keep kitchen operations efficient and ensures dishes meet standards for quality, portioning, presentation, and timely service. The role also supports and leads kitchen staff, addresses operational challenges, communicates professionally with coworkers and guests, and maintains a clean, organized kitchen that meets sanitation and safety standards.

Requirements

At least 5 years of progressive experience, or graduation from a culinary program and at least 1 year of experience in a hotel or related field.
Food Handlers Certification, in compliance with state requirements.
Ability to work effectively under pressure, remain composed, evaluate situations quickly, and determine an appropriate course of action.
Strong communication skills, including active listening and effectively conveying ideas and solutions.

Previous supervisory responsibility preferred.
