About The Position

The Sycuan Tribe, a community with a rich history, now governs its Reservation and operates various businesses including a Casino and a Golf Resort. Sycuan emphasizes a strong sense of community and teamwork, inviting employees to become part of the Sycuan family across its divisions. This role is under the direction of the designated venue Sous Chef and is responsible for preparing specialty and standard menu items according to approved recipes, methods, and ingredients. The position also requires maintaining food, equipment, and kitchens to health codes and casino standards, while fostering a positive and accommodating attitude towards guests and colleagues.

Requirements

  • County of San Diego Food Handler Card
  • 1 years casual and/or fine dining cooking experience
  • Working knowledge of safe food handling practices
  • Ability to work effectively with team members and guests
  • Ability to communicate effectively in the English language
  • Ability to follow recipes and read production sheets
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and composure
  • Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations
  • Ability to understand verbal directives and written instructions
  • Ability to routinely lift and carry 50 pounds
  • Ability to accept constructive criticism
  • Ability to stand and walk for up to eight hours at a time
  • Ability to bend, stoop, push and pull

Responsibilities
