About The Position

ASRC Federal Communications is seeking a Cook I for our ISS2 contract supporting our Air Force customer. This position is located on Wake Island. This position will require that the employee work on-site at Wake Island. Transportation from Honolulu, Hawaii to Wake Island will be furnished by government-sponsored aircraft. Meals and housing will be provided by the program while working on the island. Employees will live in a dormitory housing environment and meals will be furnished daily through the cafeteria commissary. This Temporary position will last a maximum of 90 days.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have and maintain a Certified Food Professional Certification.
  • Two (2) years of previous food-service experience in a commercial or institutional environment.
  • One (1) year experience as a line cook or prep cook in addition to the 2 years of food-service experience.
  • Experience with safe food handling techniques, personal hygiene standards, and safe work procedures to prevent contamination.
  • Ability to do recipe construction.
  • Speak and understand English.
  • Valid driver's license with suitable driving record.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment fingerprints, background check, and drug screen.
  • Ability to pass a National Agency Check with Inquires background investigation.

Responsibilities

  • In a cafeteria environment, prepare all meals in accordance with preplanned menus within established budgets and in compliance with government and management directives.
  • Prepare and cook the quantity of food required according to the menu and the number of customers.
  • Assists in preparing and serving appetizing, appealing meals using safe and hygienic methods for employees and as directed for special functions and visitors.
  • Ensures that the work area is safe, clean, and sanitary at all times.
  • Assist in cleaning kitchen work areas and the cafeteria after each meal.
  • Unload food and supplies from delivery trucks.
  • Ensure compliance with USDA and all pertaining standards, policies, and regulations.
  • Maintain accountability of customers and property; adhere to safety practices.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
