About The Position
The beautiful Embassy Suites by Hilton Washington DC Convention Center is looking for a full-time Cook I to join their culinary team! This 384-suite property is set in the Penn Quarter neighborhood of D.C., just two blocks from the Washington Convention Center and a mile from the National Mall. Ideal candidates for this position possess a minimum of two years cooking experience, with training on all stations (grill/sauté/fryer) as well as prep/knife skills. It would be considered an asset for the position to have a recent food safety training and/or previous hotel culinary experience! Shift Pattern: candidates should be available to work AM and PM shifts as needed, weekdays/weekends/holidays as needed without restrictions Pay Rate: $24.95 – $29.63 per hour, final offer based on experience

Responsibilities
- Prepare food items according to designated recipes and quality standards
- Maintain cleanliness and comply with food sanitation standards at all times
- Manage guest orders in a friendly, timely and efficient manner
- Ensure knowledge of menu and all food products
- Stock and maintain designated food station(s)
- Visually inspect all food sent from the kitchen
- Practice correct food handling and food storage procedures according to federal, state, local and company regulations
- Prepare requisitions for supplies and food items, as needed
