About The Position

The Cook I is responsible for ensuring the snack bar and dining area operate in a safe, clean, and professional manner. The employee prepares and serves menu items requested by customers and employees, and also performs general beach duties, including rentals, checking passes, and keeping the beach club clean and free of hazards. The position works under the supervision of the Marina Manager, Assistant Manager, and Kitchen Supervisor. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

Working knowledge of kitchen sanitation and safety measures.
Knowledge of food-handling sanitation.
Knowledge of principles, procedures, and equipment used in the storage, care, preparation, cooking, and dispensing of food in large quantities.
Knowledge of methods and procedures for operating, cleaning, and caring for utensils, equipment, and work areas.
Ability to prepare and cook all food groups.
Ability to follow oral and written instructions and keep records.
Ability to lift an average of 50 pounds if required by the job.
Ability to read and write at a level appropriate to the position.
Ability to cooperate and work well with others.
Ability to maintain a clean and neat personal appearance.

Responsibilities

Provide excellent customer service to customers and employees.
Maintain a working knowledge of Association rules, regulations, and procedures, and enforce them accordingly.
Prepare menu items in a clean and safe manner and in accordance with state-sanctioned standards.
Maintain a clean, hazard-free work area.
Prepare and serve food items to customers and employees.
Wash dishes and equipment as necessary.
Clean countertops, tables, equipment, and floors.
Remove garbage when necessary.
Perform general beach duties, including rentals and checking passes.
Keep the beach club clean and free of hazards.
Perform other duties as assigned.
