This position is responsible for the implementation of the child nutrition program meal services. The Cook I/II prepares and serves breakfast, lunch, and other food to children and adults in a courteous, customer service-oriented manner. This role involves organizing and setting up equipment and workstations, performing duties in accordance with health, food service, government, and other regulations. Essential tasks include assisting in the preparation of food portions, preparing the cafeteria counter, serving students and staff, removing used dishes, cleaning counters, tables, and dining area furnishings, washing pots and pans, practicing personal hygiene and proper sanitation procedures, exhibiting courtesy and understanding to staff and customers, setting up and breaking down serving areas, participating in training, and demonstrating knowledge of sanitation practices.
