About The Position

The Cook – Food Hall is responsible for preparing high-quality food for guests while following established recipes, food safety standards, and culinary procedures. This position works closely with the Executive Chef and kitchen leadership to ensure consistency, quality, and timely food preparation in a fast-paced casino dining environment. The ideal candidate is passionate about food, works well under pressure, and is committed to delivering an exceptional guest experience.

Requirements

  • Must be 19 years of age or older.
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience required.
  • Knowledge of food preparation techniques, kitchen equipment, and culinary terminology.
  • Working knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
  • Ability to accurately follow recipes, measurements, and portion control standards.
  • Ability to taste and smell food to ensure quality and freshness.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen.
  • Ability to maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude.
  • Ability to tolerate standard cleaning chemicals used in food service.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Nebraska Gaming License
  • ServSafe Certification required

Nice To Haves

  • One (1) to five (5) years of cooking experience in a high-volume restaurant, casino, hotel, or food service environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare food according to established recipes, portion standards, and presentation guidelines.
  • Perform both line cook and prep cook duties as assigned.
  • Ensure food is prepared safely, accurately, and efficiently to meet quality standards.
  • Slice, dice, chop, portion, garnish, and plate food items with consistency and attention to detail.
  • Operate grills, fryers, ovens, broilers, and other kitchen equipment safely and effectively.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and sanitary workstations throughout each shift.
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations.
  • Properly label, rotate, and store food products using FIFO (First In, First Out) practices.
  • Monitor food quality and notify kitchen leadership of any concerns.
  • Maintain adequate inventory and stock levels at assigned workstations.
  • Assist with receiving, storing, and organizing food deliveries when needed.
  • Work collaboratively with kitchen and front-of-house team members to ensure timely service.
  • Promote current casino events and assist guests with directions when appropriate.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, teamwork, and a commitment to outstanding guest service.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
