This role involves preparing ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and storing food. The cook helper will wash and peel fresh fruits and vegetables, weigh, measure, and mix ingredients, and prepare cold foods. They will operate various kitchen appliances such as ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers, and test foods to ensure they are cooked sufficiently. Monitoring food quality during preparation, setting up and breaking down the work station, and serving food in proper portions are key duties. Additionally, the role requires maintaining a clean and disinfected kitchen area, tables, tools, knives, and equipment, and ensuring the correct temperature of appliances and food. The position also emphasizes adherence to company and safety policies, reporting maintenance needs, accidents, and unsafe conditions, and completing safety training. Maintaining a professional appearance, protecting company assets, and communicating clearly are also important. Developing positive working relationships, supporting team goals, and responding appropriately to employee concerns are expected. The role requires standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods, reaching overhead and below the knees, and performing tasks that involve bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Employees will move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance. Other reasonable job duties may be requested by supervisors.
