About The Position

Prepares food for patients, customers, and catered events consistently and efficiently using food production standards and food safety procedures. Cleans, washes dishes, and sanitizes dishware and equipment. Helps maintain kitchen equipment and food inventories, prepares and serves food to customers, and assists with department maintenance and service.

Requirements

High school education, GED, or equivalent is preferred.
Associate’s or technical degree, or an equivalent combination of education and related experience, is preferred.
SERV Safe certification or equivalent is preferred in California and Hawaii.
Must receive required vaccinations as a condition of employment and annually thereafter where applicable; medical and religious exemptions may apply.

Responsibilities

Prepares, seasons, and cooks food for facility patients, employees, and visitors.
Displays and serves food to customers and ensures dietary needs are met.
Reviews menus and work orders to determine the types and quantities of food to prepare.
Plans cooking schedules so food is ready at specified times.
Maintains sanitary work stations and appropriate inventory levels.
Measures and mixes ingredients according to recipes using kitchen utensils and equipment.
Ensures prepared items meet quality standards for taste, appearance, and ingredients, while maintaining sanitary food preparation practices.
Attends and assists with training personnel.
Cleans, dishwashes, and sanitizes dishware and equipment.
Assists in maintaining kitchen equipment and food inventories, as well as department maintenance and service.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
