About The Position

Delivers coordinated nursing care for a patient or assigned group of patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process. Supervises and directs the activities of assigned nursing staff at various levels, and coordinates care with other disciplines using critical thinking, professional and supervisory discretion, and independent judgment.

The role is at Adventist Health Vallejo, a freestanding 61-bed facility providing short-term psychiatric care for children, adolescents, and adults, as well as partial hospitalization programs for adults.

Requirements

• Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice.
• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor per Adventist Health policy.
• AHA-BLS or ARC-BLS certification.
• Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI), Techniques for Effective Aggression Management (TEAM), or TEAM-A certification.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• Acute care facility experience.

Responsibilities

• Collect relevant data about patients’ health or situations and analyze assessment data to determine diagnoses and care issues.
• Develop care plans prescribing interventions, implement those plans, coordinate care delivery, and use strategies to promote health and a safe environment.
• Identify patient outcomes and evaluate progress toward attaining them.
• Collaborate with patients, families, healthcare providers, and the treatment team to provide care in a safe, healing, humane, and caring environment.
• Provide learning opportunities and health information to patients, family members, and team members.
• Participate in discharge planning to provide continuity of care.
• Delegate appropriately and coordinate the duties of healthcare team members.
• Supervise and direct the activities of assigned nursing staff.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
