This position is responsible for managing and operating the kitchen in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor. The Cook/Dietary Aide reports to the Dietary Supervisor and is expected to prepare tasteful meals, cook a variety of foods in large quantities, and accurately prepare special diets according to prepared menus and portion control guides. This role also involves maintaining a safe, clean, and sanitary kitchen environment, recording food temperatures, preparing pureed foods, and cooperating with personnel in all departments. The Cook/Dietary Aide will also assist with serving meals, cleaning the cooking and serving areas, reporting resident care concerns, and participating in the training of dietary staff. A key aspect of this role is ensuring the presentation of food is appealing to residents and that all cleaning schedules are followed. This job has supervisory responsibilities in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor.
