About The Position

NHC Place Sumner is seeking a Cook/Chef to prepare and serve meals in a healthcare setting. The role offers an 11 a.m.–8 p.m. schedule and pay of $17–$21. Healthcare food service experience is preferred but not required, as is banquet or catering experience. The position may include supervising when needed.

Responsibilities

Assist with receiving and storing food and supplies to prevent waste and ensure product quality; date, label, and store items properly and use appropriate food-handling techniques.
Review menus, therapeutic menus, recipes, and production sheets before preparing meals.
Prepare and serve diets accurately and attractively according to plan, using proper portions and special-diet items.
Follow standardized recipes and special-diet orders, preparing sufficient quantities for all service requirements.
Test and taste foods of all consistencies for appearance, flavor, aroma, and temperature, and adjust as needed.
Supervise when needed.
