About The Position

The Cook Assistant is responsible for maintaining the EHS center’s kitchen and preparing all meals. The role ensures full compliance with State Food Program regulations and required paperwork.

Requirements

• Experience in food preparation for large groups is required.
• Ability to plan, develop, and execute meal plans.
• General understanding of the nutritional needs of young children.
• Proficiency in basic math skills and cooking unit measurements and conversions.
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• Demonstrated self-initiative and adaptability.
• Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of staff and families.
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in basic computer skills.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent; childhood development or a related field is preferred.
• Experience working with the State Food Program is strongly preferred.
