About The Position

This position is for a full-time Cook 2, with an hourly rate of $19.00. The role is located within the Resort Division and reports to the Sous Chef. In accordance with the Gaming Ordinance, all non-gaming employees whose annual income reaches $50,000 or more will be required to obtain and maintain a valid gaming license.

Requirements

  • Minimum one-year culinary experience in high-volume setting.
  • Obtain Serve Safe Food Handlers certification within three months.
  • Moderate knowledge of fryers, grilling, and oven use.
  • Demonstrated moderate knife skills and culinary knowledge.
  • Familiarity with salad construction and cold food prep.
  • Ability to understand and execute job assignments.
  • Follow recipes and directions accurately.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and strong teamwork ethic.
  • Effective communication skills with colleagues and management.
  • Meet all employment qualifications set by North Star Mohican Casino Resort.
  • Pass pre-employment drug and health screenings.
  • Maintain acceptable attendance record.
  • Adhere to Drug and Alcohol-Free Workplace Policy.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • For full-time applicants aged 19 and under, HSD or GED is required, or proof of current enrollment in an educational program pursuing of or equivalent to HS/GED.
  • two years preferred culinary experience in high-volume setting.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in food preparation and service according to specified recipes, pictures, and chef instructions.
  • Gain knowledge of food preparation across different kitchen stations.
  • Uphold high standards of personal hygiene and sanitation.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and well-stocked work area.
  • Flexibly perform duties in various kitchen positions as required.
  • Execute opening and closing duties and assigned side work.
  • Participate in training.
  • Aid team members as needed.
  • Safely operate and clean department equipment.
  • Foster courteous and helpful relationships with guests.
  • Perform duties swiftly and efficiently.
  • Clean coolers, freezers, and storage areas as assigned.
  • Assist in inventory storage and rotation (FIFO).
  • Demonstrate commitment to organizational goals and vision.
  • Participate in scheduled training and evaluations.
  • May work at other venues based on business needs.
  • Adhere to all workplace policies, procedures, and regulations.
