Boston University is hiring up to seven faculty members for its Future of Healthy Aging cluster. The cluster builds on the University’s Health Across the Lifespan research and brings together disciplines including anthropology, biology, business, communications, epidemiology, law, physical therapy, sociology, and surgery. The research aims to investigate how people age and the biological, cultural, environmental, technological, legal, and social factors that shape healthy aging, including structural factors that prevent some people from aging well. The cluster will connect fundamental discovery, population health, and translational research to advance healthier aging across the life course and address the challenges of an aging global population. Boston University seeks intellectually fearless scholars interested in working across traditional disciplinary boundaries, building collaborations, advancing discoveries, and shaping new research directions. Faculty are expected to contribute through innovative scholarship, engaged teaching, and participation in the intellectual life of the University. Candidates may apply to up to two departments. Openings are listed in Anthropology, Biology, Business, Epidemiology, Mass Communication, Advertising, and Public Relations, Surgery, and Sociology. The Epidemiology position is open rank; the other listed positions are at the Assistant Professor level.
