About The Position

The Questrom School of Business at Boston University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position focused on the business of health, particularly as it relates to an aging population. The position is part of BU’s major investment in convergent research, bringing together ideas, expertise, and perspectives across disciplines to address critical societal challenges. The successful candidate will examine the business, technological, and systems implications of an aging society and help translate discoveries about healthy aging into scalable, affordable, and sustainable solutions across healthcare and other systems that support aging populations. Areas of interest may include healthcare demand and delivery, digital health adoption, long-term care, insurance and financing, consumer and family decision-making, workforce longevity, and AI-enabled tools. The position builds on BU’s strengths in Health Across the Lifespan and its research on aging, including the Framingham Heart Study and New England Centenarian Studies, as well as interdisciplinary research centers focused on population aging, Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias, and the biology of aging. The cluster brings together faculty across fields to investigate biological, cultural, environmental, technological, legal, and social factors shaping healthy aging, and structural factors that prevent some people from aging well. The appointee will contribute to the community of teachers and researchers through innovative scholarship, engaged teaching, and participation in the intellectual life of the University.
