About The Position

The Convention & Visitors Bureau Manager develops and initiates projects, programs and events to encourage and promote the tourist and convention industry within the City of Conroe, including programs promoting Conroe's historic structures, attractions and hotels.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in marketing, public relations, communications or related field required.
Advanced degree or extensive experience in advertising and public relations.
At least three years of related experience.
Microsoft experience in Word, Excel, etc. preferred.
Possession of a Valid Texas "Class C" driver license or higher.
Knowledge of marketing, advertising, promotion, accounting and forecasting practices.
Must understand the issues from the various points of merchants, public agencies, property owners and community organizations.
Ability to maintain vital contacts and assist with events and activities.
Ability to work with minimum supervision.
Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with the public, business owners and community leaders.
Must pass background check and pre-employment substance abuse screening as a condition of employment.
A motor vehicle record check and job-related doctor's physical exam may also be required.
Safety-sensitive positions remain subject to random drug and alcohol testing after hire.

Supervisory experience preferred.
