This position is responsible for preparing food in accordance with applicable federal, state, and corporate standards, guidelines, and regulations, ensuring quality food service is provided at all times. The role involves preparing high-quality food items according to standardized recipes and instructions to meet production, delivery, and service schedules. It also includes serving meals or preparing them for delivery, ensuring correct portioning, meeting outlined standards, and maintaining correct food temperature, attractiveness, and taste. The cook will use established ticket collection procedures during service and be responsible for records from their area. Cleaning the kitchen after preparation and serving, maintaining high standards of cleanliness, and storing or discarding excess food according to safe food-handling procedures are also key duties. The role requires keeping refrigerators and storerooms clean and neat, ensuring food and supply items are stored per standards, and operating and maintaining kitchen equipment as instructed. Assistance with production planning, record keeping, reporting, and ordering/receiving of food and supplies may be required. Reporting needed maintenance, faulty equipment, or accidents to the supervisor immediately is essential. The cook will attend in-service and safety meetings and maintain good working relationships with coworkers, customers, administrators, and managers. Performing the job safely while maintaining a clean, safe work environment is paramount. This includes ensuring proper presentation, portion control, and maintenance of serving temperatures, following HACCP standards, and a personal commitment to safety. Adherence to all Company policies and procedures, including specific safety guidelines for handling knives, hot pans, and the use of slip-resistant shoes and proper lifting techniques, is mandatory.
