About The Position

Charleston County Environmental Management is seeking a motivated, safety-minded Convenience Center Site Attendant who enjoys working outdoors, assisting the public, providing customer service, and performing a variety of tasks at convenience centers. This floater position may be assigned to any Convenience Center Site. The employee works a flexible schedule between 7:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday. The hiring hourly range is $15.00–$16.96. Applications are reviewed immediately, and the position is open until filled.

Requirements

• Maintain a valid South Carolina driver's license and a safe driving record.
• Have one year of experience dealing with the public or in customer service.
• Present a positive attitude when dealing with Charleston County residents.
• Frequently lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
• Meet the physical demands described in the posting, including reaching, pushing, standing, handling or operating objects, tools or controls, sitting, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, repetitive motion, and walking, talking, and hearing.
• Have an eighth-grade education, or an equivalent combination of training and work experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the timely opening and closing of the assigned convenience center.
• Maintain the convenience center and surrounding areas so they are clean and free of debris.
• Assist members of the public and provide customer service at convenience center sites.
• Work at any Convenience Center Site as a floater.
