Controls Technician - 2nd Shift
About The Position
Quanex is looking for a Controls Technician - 2nd Shift to join our team located in Rice Lake, WI. The schedule is Monday-Friday 2:30pm-11:00pm, with overtime needs varying daily during the busy season. The hourly range for this position begins at $28/hr (this is including a $3/hr shift differential) with opportunity for pay increase on an annual basis. This role is in a fast-paced environment that helps the workday move quickly, offering a variety of job tasks and opportunities for training, cross-training, and career advancement. It's a safety-focused, family-oriented work environment where you can learn multiple skills and advance.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of on-the-job experience in a related field or a 2-year technical degree
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Proficient in using maintenance tools and equipment.
Responsibilities
- Basic mechanical and fabrication skills with the ability to complete basic PMs
- Understands fluid power basics and can integrate them into machines
- Ability to troubleshoot effectively and uses correct measurement tools to identify problems
- Has basic knowledge of industrial controls and wiring practices
- Has understanding of PLC, HMI, and variable speed drive programming and installation
- Is meticulous in maintaining existing documentation and developing new documents as needed
- Can perform basic fabrication and maintenance with instruction
