About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Controls Project Manager to support large-scale construction and infrastructure projects focused on building automation, power monitoring, and industrial control systems in Michigan City, IN. This role will oversee the delivery and coordination of controls-related scopes including BMS, EPMS, SCADA, and electrical power systems across complex commercial and industrial environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical understanding of controls systems combined with proven project management experience leading multidisciplinary teams and subcontractors.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience managing controls or automation projects within construction or industrial environments
  • Strong knowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS)
  • Strong knowledge of Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS)
  • Strong knowledge of SCADA systems
  • Strong knowledge of Power distribution and electrical infrastructure
  • Experience working on mission-critical, industrial, manufacturing, or large commercial projects preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple scopes and coordinate across various stakeholders
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, scheduling, and project financials
  • Experience with controls integration, commissioning, and field coordination
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred

Nice To Haves

  • Candidates may come from controls contractors, systems integrators, or large general contractors with experience delivering complex electrical and automation projects.
  • Experience with platforms such as Siemens, Johnson Controls, Schneider Electric, Honeywell, Rockwell Automation, or similar systems is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the full lifecycle of controls and automation projects from preconstruction through commissioning and closeout
  • Oversee BMS, EPMS, SCADA, and power monitoring scopes across active construction projects
  • Coordinate with owners, engineers, subcontractors, field teams, and vendors to ensure successful project execution
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, procurement, RFIs, submittents, and change orders
  • Lead project meetings and provide regular progress updates to internal and external stakeholders
  • Support commissioning, startup, testing, and system integration activities
  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with project specifications, safety requirements, and quality standards
  • Identify and resolve technical or project-related issues proactively
  • Collaborate closely with MEP, electrical, and commissioning teams throughout the project lifecycle
