About The Position

The Controls Program Manager provides end-to-end program management for strategic deployment and execution planning initiatives within Johnson Controls’ Systems Project Development and Execution Team. It builds integrated roadmaps, coordinates process, technology, data, training, and change activities, and supports improvement and transformation events across sites. The role also establishes deployment plans, governance, feedback loops, adoption measures, benefits tracking, and routines to sustain new ways of working.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, operations, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • Working knowledge of Lean, Kaizen, value stream mapping, standard work, daily management, structured problem solving, or comparable continuous-improvement methods.
  • Experience with deployment, organizational change, training coordination, adoption measurement, and sustainment planning.
  • Strong facilitation, stakeholder management, executive communication, risk management, and action-plan discipline.
  • Ability to work across business processes, technology, data, and organizational boundaries and communicate with frontline and executive audiences.
  • Comfort working with hybrid and multi-site events, ambiguous work, evolving priorities, and globally distributed stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with program-management, collaboration, dashboard, and workflow tools.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain integrated roadmaps for SDEP priorities, including milestones, owners, dependencies, resources, measures, and decision points.
  • Coordinate sequencing across process, technology, data, training, and change activities so related initiatives are delivered as one operating system.
  • Plan and support Kaizen, value stream mapping, Gemba, pilot, transformation, and scaling events, including hybrid and multi-site sessions.
  • Develop event charters, scopes, agendas, pre-work plans, participant models, communication plans, logistics, readiness checklists, and follow-up actions with process owners.
  • Design deployment plans using Prepare, Validate, and Deploy phases, including leadership kickoffs, area transformation events, role-based enablement, and hypercare.
  • Build sustainment into initiative design through 30/60/90-day follow-up, operating reviews, benefits tracking, adoption measures, and corrective-action routines.
  • Maintain initiative scorecards and governance artifacts showing schedule, scope, benefits, adoption, risks, decisions, capacity, and resource constraints.
  • Create feedback loops to capture frontline defects, improvement ideas, adoption barriers, and enhancement needs, and keep the improvement funnel visible from issue through standardization and deployment.
  • Coordinate and follow through on initiatives end to end, keeping scope, risks, owners, and decision points visible and maintaining accountability, safety, and integrity.
  • Align process owners, business leaders, and support functions around practical next steps and clear escalation paths, and remove obstacles.
  • Use structured problem solving and continuous improvement to surface issues, strengthen deployment plans, and refine standard work, measures, and routines.
  • Build trust and shared ownership across stakeholders and translate effectively between frontline execution and executive audiences.
