About The Position

Tamarack Foods is seeking a skilled Controls & ENI (Electrical, Network, and Instrumentation) Technician to join our Maintenance team. This position is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving automated production equipment, electrical systems, instrumentation, and industrial networks to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable plant operations. The ideal candidate will have experience with PLCs, HMIs, electrical controls, instrumentation, motor controls, and industrial communication systems in a manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience.
  • Experience troubleshooting PLC-controlled equipment.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and technical drawings.
  • Experience working with 120V, 240V, and 480V systems.
  • Knowledge of motor controls, sensors, and industrial automation.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical degree or certification in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Technology, Mechatronics, Automation, or related field.
  • Experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs and FactoryTalk.
  • Experience in food manufacturing or other regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Knowledge of VFDs, instrumentation calibration, and industrial networking.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair PLC-controlled equipment.
  • Support and modify PLC programs as needed.
  • Troubleshoot HMI interfaces and communication systems.
  • Maintain and support Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs).
  • Assist with automation improvement projects.
  • Perform backups and documentation of control systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems up to 480V.
  • Diagnose and repair motors, starters, relays, contactors, and control panels.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on electrical equipment.
  • Install, calibrate, and maintain sensors, transmitters, and instrumentation devices.
  • Troubleshoot photo-eyes, proximity sensors, temperature controls, pressure sensors, and flow devices.
  • Support industrial communication networks, including Ethernet/IP and other control networks.
  • Maintain network connectivity between PLCs, HMIs, and production equipment.
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns and minimize downtime.
  • Complete work orders and maintenance documentation accurately.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain compliance with food safety, GMP, OSHA, and company policies.
  • Support production during startup, changeovers, and operational issues.
