About The Position

This position is responsible for designing, developing, and troubleshooting automated control systems to support manufacturing operations. Will be responsible for analyzing system requirements, designing control algorithms, and integrating hardware and software components to ensure optimal system performance. This role ensures equipment reliability, process optimization, and compliance with safety and quality standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or related field.
  • Proven experience as a Controls Engineer, preferably with 8-10 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in in programming languages such as C/C++, MATLAB, or Python and PLC programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens) and industrial networks.
  • Experience with robotics, sensors, and motion control systems.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of safety standards (NFPA, OSHA) and electrical codes.
  • Electrical design and controls implementation utilizing DC and AC circuits.
  • Ability to work during off-shift periods as required.
  • Must pass any drug screens, background checks, and any pre-employment tests, which will be conducted in accordance with applicable law.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work in a high-stress environment.
  • Detail-oriented and able to work independently.
  • Collaborative approach to resolving issues impacting various groups across the enterprise.
  • Ability to understand processes (system and non-system), troubleshoot, develop, and recommend solutions.
  • Enjoy working in a dynamic environment and be a self-motivated team player.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Microsoft Project.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive analysis of system requirements, specifications, and performance objectives.
  • Design and implement control systems, algorithms and strategies based on the identified requirements using appropriate programming languages and tools and appropriate control hardware, including sensors, actuators, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs), HMI and MES OPC integration.
  • Develop and maintain control system schematics, logic and documentation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate automation solutions in existing and new equipment.
  • Works closely with integrators and confirms completion of work requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve control system issues to minimize downtime.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and process optimization.
  • Advises other departments on current projects.
  • Trains and instructs employees as necessary.
