About The Position

The Controls & Diagnostics Systems (CDS) organization is seeking a highly motivated, team oriented, and results driven Engineer II to join the Engine System Software organization. The qualified candidate will be responsible for supporting control system integration across engine subsystems including FADEC (Full Authority Digital Engine Control), sensors, actuators, fuel systems, and electro-mechanical components. This role involves developing, managing, and decomposing system and subsystem requirements in accordance with ARP4754 guidelines, and owning requirements lifecycle activities including authoring, allocation, traceability, validation, and verification. The engineer will also support hardware selection, trade studies, and integration of sensors, effectors, and control system components. Additionally, the role requires applying Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) using Cameo Systems Modeler and translating control system requirements into Model-Based Design (MBD) implementations in MATLAB Simulink for software development, including developing and validating Simulink models for actuation systems (starter-generators, fuel systems, pneumatic systems).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
  • 2 years of engineering experience or an Advanced degree

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with gas turbine engine operation, control, and system integration.
  • Experience in engine control system design and validation.
  • Familiarity with MBSE tools such as Cameo Systems Modeler.
  • Proficient in system/software design tools such as Cameo Systems Modeler and MATLAB Simulink.
  • Experience in engine control input/output electrical interfaces.
  • Experience in fuel and actuation architecture studies and system design.

Responsibilities
