About The Position

Lead the accounting and finance function across multiple operating companies and locations. Oversee consolidated financial reporting, ensuring accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Develop financial reports, dashboards, and KPIs to support executive leadership and strategic decision-making. Manage budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and profitability analysis. Oversee inventory accounting, standard costing, manufacturing variances, and margin improvement initiatives. Manage construction and project accounting, including job costing, work-in-progress (WIP), revenue recognition, and project profitability. Standardize accounting processes and financial controls across all branches and operating companies. Lead intercompany accounting, consolidations, and financial reporting by business unit and location. Monitor working capital, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, inventory, and cash management. Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, lender requirements, and internal financial controls. Coordinate external audits, tax filings, and financial reviews while managing financial risk. Support acquisitions through due diligence, financial modeling, integration, and reporting standardization. Partner with operational leaders to improve productivity, profitability, and financial performance. Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting and finance team while fostering accountability and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • BS degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field from an accredited college is required.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience within manufacturing, construction, industrial or project-based businesses.
  • Experience supporting organizations with multiple locations and multiple entities with decentralized operations.
  • Experience with inventory accounting, job costing, and operational finance.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
  • Experience with ERP/accounting systems serving manufacturing and construction environments.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.
  • Experience with business intelligence and reporting tools.
  • Strong familiarity and experience with local/state/federal tax and compliance tasks.
  • A high degree of personal integrity, strong professional judgment, and positivity.
  • Organizational abilities to track multiple deadlines and reporting requirements.
  • Strong desire to learn and grow, and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to suggest and implement process improvements.
  • Ability to lead and communicate effectively, orally and in writing, and have good public relations skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

Nice To Haves

  • Active CPA license or willingness/ability to pursue is preferred.
  • Mergers and acquisitions experience preferred.
  • Manufacturing, construction, industrial and related industry knowledge and experience preferred, including job costing, bills of materials, inventory valuation and costing, and work-in-progress.
