YKK AP America provides employees with a comprehensive benefits package designed to provide the security they need to enjoy life at home and at work.  By providing a high level of benefit coverage at a reasonable cost to the employee, we hope to foster a long and productive employment relationship.Position Summary The Controller will be directly responsible for all accounting functions, cost accounting, and inventory valuation of YKK AP America’s Commercial and Residential divisions.  This will include the maintenance and adherence to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and/or International Financial Reporting Standards(IFRS/YGAAP) and Company’s accounting policies and procedures. This person will identify and develop future leadership and improves overall bench strength through talent assessment, selection, and placement of the finance staff to insure ability to grow as company grows.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business related field; CPA and/or MBA in Finance or Accounting is preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years experience as a Financial Controller in a Manufacturing environment
  • Thorough knowledge of U.S. GAAP. IFRS experience a plus
  • Thorough knowledge of costing in a manufacturing environment
  • In-depth working knowledge of methods, procedures and terminolgy required
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work with other functional areas
  • Strong attention to details and a drive for quality work
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Mircosoft Office

Responsibilities

  • Oversees all financial functions including invoicing, A/P, G/L, Inventory/Cost Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
  • Ensure understanding and compliance with GAAP &/or IFRS accounting standards, Company’s internal control procedures and practices.  Develops a strong internal control environment.
  • Must work across organization boundaries and all levels of the company to achieve plant and companies objectives by analyzing financial and operational reports to pinpoint problem areas and to help guide senior management’s decision-making.
  • Monitors and analyzes Company’s and departmental operating results vs. budget.
  • Support and is responsible for the month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Coordinates the preparation of financial statements, financial reports, special analyses and information reports.
  • Be able to drive, recommend and coordinates changes in automated financial and management information systems.
  • Establishes and implements short and long-rang departmental goals, objectives, policies and operating procedures.
  • Manages inventory valuations which include annual standard costs establishment, annual physical inventory and quarterly revaluation calculations.
  • Oversee Capital Expenditure and Fixed Asset management.
  • Establishes job performance standards, expectations, and measures for all subordinates, including providing ongoing feedback for each employee against expectations.
