About The Position

The Controller will be responsible for accounting operations, production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of accounting records, and ensuring compliance with federal banking regulations.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, or related field.
5+ years of experience in a comparable position, preferably in a financial institution.
Understanding of applicable laws and regulations.
Understanding of economic principles, financial markets, and banking.
Understanding of financial data analysis and reporting.
Knowledge of payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
Ability to deliver quality work on tight deadlines, with strong organization and priority setting skills.
Proven experience in financial project management.
Advanced computer skills, specifically in Excel.
Must be able to communicate financial information into sound business language so people of all levels can understand.
Knowledge of federal regulation on taxes and reporting.

Nice To Haves

Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designation preferred.

Responsibilities

Prepare and present periodic financial reports and risk analysis to senior leadership, including the Board of Directors.
Create budgets and forecasts.
Guide financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures.
Develop and maintain internal control guidelines, policies and procedures for budget accounting, cash and credit management, administration, and other activities.
Coordinate and direct budgeting, procurement, investment activities, and financial planning.
Ensure compliance with state and federal regulatory requirements and professional standards, including preparing and filing regulatory, federal, and state reports.
Coordinate with examiners and auditors and comply with their requests.
Provide support to management, particularly in commercial and financial matters.
Responsible for the company general ledger.
Manage and oversee the Internal Auditor.
Perform other related duties as necessary or assigned.
