About The Position

The Controller will be responsible for accounting operations, production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of accounting records, and ensuring compliance with federal banking regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in a comparable position, preferably in a financial institution.
  • Understanding of applicable laws and regulations.
  • Understanding of economic principles, financial markets, and banking.
  • Understanding of financial data analysis and reporting.
  • Knowledge of payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
  • Ability to deliver quality work on tight deadlines, with strong organization and priority setting skills.
  • Proven experience in financial project management.
  • Advanced computer skills, specifically in Excel.
  • Must be able to communicate financial information into sound business language so people of all levels can understand.
  • Knowledge of federal regulation on taxes and reporting.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designation preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and present periodic financial reports and risk analysis to senior leadership, including the Board of Directors.
  • Create budgets and forecasts.
  • Guide financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures.
  • Develop and maintain internal control guidelines, policies and procedures for budget accounting, cash and credit management, administration, and other activities.
  • Coordinate and direct budgeting, procurement, investment activities, and financial planning.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulatory requirements and professional standards, including preparing and filing regulatory, federal, and state reports.
  • Coordinate with examiners and auditors and comply with their requests.
  • Provide support to management, particularly in commercial and financial matters.
  • Responsible for the company general ledger.
  • Manage and oversee the Internal Auditor.
  • Perform other related duties as necessary or assigned.
