The Controller is responsible for all aspects of financial management, including overseeing financial reporting, budgeting, compliance, and analysis to support the strategic decision-making of the organization. Requirements

Strong knowledge of GAAP/IFRS and financial regulations.
Proficiency in financial software and MS Excel.
Knowledge of Infor Syteline/CSI ERP; Avalara sales tax software; Concur/Gant expense reporting and travel booking software; Coupa preferred.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
High attention to detail, integrity, and professionalism.
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field with 5+ years of accounting / finance experience.

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions and percentages.

Responsibilities

Prepare, review, and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP/IFRS. Provide timely internal financial statements to the leadership team.
Lead the budgeting process, including forecasting and variance analysis, to guide financial planning and strategic business decisions.
Oversee cash flow and ensure liquidity; manage relationships with banks and financial institutions.
Develop, implement, and monitor robust internal controls to ensure the integrity of financial data and mitigate risk.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax filings, sales tax and payroll tax filings as well as other financial reporting requirements. Work closely with and compile data for our tax preparation consultants.
Manage audits, liaising with external auditors and preparing necessary documentation.
Supervise, mentor, and develop the accounting team, fostering a collaborative and results-driven environment.
Manage and provide hands-on support to all accounting operations including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and General Ledger, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting and Revenue Recognition.
Establishes clear work standards and expectations, monitors performance, motivates employees, utilizes coaching and corrective action when necessary, and conducts performance appraisals on a timely basis.
Efficiently and appropriately delegates tasks to meet the goals of the organization. Monitors progress on tasks and take action to assure goal accomplishment.
Create an environment of support and positive regard for staff. Encourages staff development through self-assessment, skill development, training and learning. Acts as an advocate for staff.
Evaluate, improve, and document accounting processes and systems, leveraging technology to increase efficiency.
Partner with senior leadership to analyze financial performance, support strategic initiatives, and provide actionable insights for growth.
Directly supervises employees and is responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of the accounting operations of the organization. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and addressing complaints and resolving problems.
