POSITION SUMMARY The Controller of Finance will oversee all accounting operations within the company, which includes maintaining financial records, preparing financial reports, and managing a team of finance professionals. This role requires a strong background in public accounting and experience in managing staff. The Controller will work closely with senior management to support financial decision-making and ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification is required.
  • 7+ years of experience in accounting or finance, with a strong background in public accounting.
  • Proven experience in managing teams and leading financial operations in a mid-sized company.
  • In-depth knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
  • Manage month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Develop and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity.
  • Prepare detailed budget reports and forecasts, providing insights for strategic planning.
  • Lead the audit process and coordinate with external auditors.
  • Manage and mentor a team of finance and accounting professionals.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  • Set performance goals, conduct regular reviews, and provide professional development opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations.
  • Monitor and manage financial risks, including cash flow, credit, and operational risks.
  • Develop and maintain company accounting policies and procedures.
  • Partner with the CFO and senior management to develop financial strategies that support the company’s growth and profitability goals.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations for business decision-making.
