About The Position

Warp is hiring its first Controller to own the books and financial operations of a company that moves real money every day. This is a hands-on individual contributor role reporting to the Head of Finance. The Controller will run accounting, close, tax, and the controls essential for a payroll and money-movement business.

Requirements

• 5+ years in accounting and controllership, ideally including a high-growth startup.
• CPA or equivalent rigor.
• Hands-on with close, reconciliation, and accounting systems.
• Comfortable in a company where money movement is core to the product, not a side function.
• High ownership and autonomy. You see a broken process and fix it.

Nice To Haves

• Payroll, payments, or fintech background.
• Helped a company prep for its first formal audit.

Responsibilities

• Own the monthly close and keep the books clean and audit-ready.
• Run accounting operations: AP, AR, billing reconciliation, and revenue recognition as we migrate billing to ACH.
• Own corporate tax and compliance filings, working with our outside tax partners.
• Reconcile money movement, ensuring tens of millions in monthly volume across multiple rails tie out.
• Build financial controls and processes that scale from 30 to 70+ people without adding chaos.
• Partner with the Head of Finance on reporting and with Ops on tax compliance.
