About The Position

The Controller for HENDERSON FAMILY ENTERPRISES will provide support to Henderson Implement & Marine, the leading dealer of boats, tractors, and offroad vehicles in Lake Charles and Henderson Wholesale, a multi-state distributor of Hunt Brothers Pizza. Requirements

  • Four-year Degree in Accounting.
  • 5+ Years accounting experience
  • Able to effectively use Microsoft Office suite.
  • Proficient in the advanced use of Excel spreadsheets.
  • Thorough knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
  • Able to effectively use multiple business systems for multiple entities.
  • Be innovative in identifying best practices for the accounting department and other areas of the company.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Versed working knowledge of financial operations, accounting, compliance, and employee relations required.
  • Always handle confidential company and personal information with integrity.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, payroll, credit management, and taxes.
  • Supervise and develop accounting staff by managing performance, setting goals, providing continuous training, and maintaining strong relationships.
  • Prepare and review financial statements in compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Analyze financial statements, including results to budget, gross margin analysis, and financial ratios.
  • Monitor the company’s financial reports and determine ways to reduce costs and protect assets.
  • Keep up to date on the financial market to understand how to maximize profits and find new expansion areas.
  • Analyze, apply, and improve policies, procedures, controls, and methodologies.
