About The Position

We're a mechanical contractor in San Diego — $18–24M in commercial and federal construction, plus a refrigeration service company we acquired two years ago. Fifteen years in, built from the ground up. Two brands, one team. Our purpose is simple: we solve complex challenges for our clients in ways others can't or won't. We're hiring an experienced construction controller to lead our accounting department. You'll report directly to the CEO, with payroll and HR in their own seats, so you're leading the function instead of buried in it.

Requirements

• 8+ years in construction accounting
• 3+ years as a controller or assistant controller
• Deep WIP and job costing experience
• Certified payroll and prevailing wage
• Advanced Excel
• Experience leading a team

Responsibilities

• Month-end close for both brands
• Weekly WIP
• Job costing across construction and service
• Cash forecasting and collections
• Billing start to finish (including federal/WAWF)
• Compliance
• Reporting for the leadership team
