About The Position
Our client is a well-established manufacturer and are seeking a hands-on Controller to partner directly with the CFO and oversee the day-to-day accounting operations of the organization. This is a highly visible role for someone who enjoys being involved in all aspects of accounting while helping improve processes, strengthen internal controls, and support the company's continued growth.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, general ledger accounting, and financial reporting
- Experience with inventory and cost accounting in a manufacturing, food production, distribution, or related environment is highly preferred
- Experience leading month-end close and preparing financial statements
- ERP experience required (NorthScope experience is a plus)
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a hands-on environment
Nice To Haves
- CPA or public accounting experience is a plus but not required
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily accounting operations, including cash management and bank reconciliations
- Manage the general ledger, journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close
- Oversee accounts receivable, customer invoicing, collections, and cash application
- Monitor cash flow and prepare daily cash reporting
- Support inventory and cost accounting, including inventory valuation, product costing, and analysis of operational costs
- Prepare financial statements and management reporting
- Process expense reports, banking transactions, and payroll support activities
- Assist with annual audits, 1099 reporting, and year-end close
- Develop and document accounting procedures and strengthen internal controls
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting, and operational efficiencies
- Partner closely with the CFO on financial analysis, budgeting, and special projects
