Controller

Koantek•Dunwoody, GA
•$180,000 - $200,000•Remote

About The Position

Koantek is hiring its first US-based Controller to make its books audit-ready and build an accounting function capable of scaling from $40M to more than $100M in revenue. The Series B company has multiple legal entities, a growing global footprint, an offshore accounting team in India, data quality gaps, and no completed US financial statement audit. The Controller will own improving data quality and establishing the accounting processes needed for a clean first US audit. Reporting to the VP, Finance & Accounting, the Controller will lead the India accounting team. This is a hands-on builder role in the first year, expected to shift toward leadership as the team and systems mature. The position is fully remote for a US-based employee, with regular overlap with India (IST) hours. The first-year mandate is to establish a reliable monthly close using trustworthy data and achieve a clean US audit. The Controller will build a documented close of 10 business days or fewer, eventually targeting seven days; partner with RevOps, FP&A, and systems owners to reconcile revenue, billing, and cost data to the general ledger; lead the first US GAAP audit; clean up historical books; and own multi-entity consolidation. The role also includes developing the India accounting team and establishing clear ownership, review standards, and US GAAP training. Responsibilities span close and reporting, audit and compliance, revenue and technical accounting, multi-entity accounting, internal controls, systems and data, tax and statutory coordination, treasury support, and team leadership. The Controller will manage the India Accounting Director and, through that leader, a five-person team covering AP, AR, payroll, FDE/services revenue accounting, and close. The role is suited to a hands-on accounting leader who can bring order to ambiguity, document processes, develop team members, and raise issues early. Success is measured by progressive improvements in audit readiness, close timelines, reconciliations, documented policies and controls, and the performance and ownership of the India team.
