The Controller is responsible for ensuring the maintenance of complete and accurate books and records for the company and all client companies. This role ensures that all required financial reports, pro formas, and analyses are completed accurately and on time. The Controller will also be responsible for the quality of all reports prepared by the Finance and Accounting department and will frequently participate in Board and Management meetings. This position protects assets by establishing, monitoring, maintaining, and enforcing internal controls, and designs and directs operational audits. The Controller guides financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, enforcing, and maintaining policies and procedures, and ensures corporate separateness between the company and all client companies. This role manages the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of the budgeting process and manages cash for the company and all client companies. The Controller coordinates service plans with independent accountants, including the year-end process to generate annual financial statements and ensures that all corporate tax returns are prepared timely and filed. This position provides leadership, direct supervision, training, and development of staff, ensuring efficient and effective use of staff. The Controller promotes organizational development by delivering performance evaluations and coaching personnel, identifies and implements cost control measures, and develops and maintains relationships with all key stakeholders. This role contributes to the business planning process, supports special projects, and accepts other duties and responsibilities as assigned. The Controller defines departmental policies, procedures, and systems, and ensures cost and budget management/control within the functional area. They identify and implement cost control measures that do not compromise compliance, maintain accurate fixed asset records, and high-quality project and cost accounting processes. The Controller uses advanced PC and business computer applications, telephone conferencing, and e-mail daily. They understand RES’ ISO 14001 Environmental Management System (EMS) and assist with executing its objectives. The Controller assists the CFO in Cash Management and performs other job-related duties assigned.
