The Controller will design, implement, and own the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process, building the formal close calendar, checklists, and accountability structures the organization currently lacks. They will ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP, including multi-entity consolidations. The role oversees all aspects of the general ledger, leads the preparation of management reporting packages, and presents financial results to the CFO and senior leadership. Additionally, the Controller manages cash flow reporting and treasury functions, assesses the company's current accounting environment, and develops a roadmap for building formal internal controls. They will document accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls, establish segregation of duties, and prepare the organization for its first formal external audit. The position provides technical accounting guidance, ensures compliance with financial regulations, oversees corporate income tax compliance, and manages 401(k) plan administration, risk management, and corporate insurance programs. The Controller also oversees the fleet management program, evaluates and optimizes accounting systems, and partners with other departments on strategic initiatives. They advise the CEO and senior leadership on fiscal matters and oversee government and regulatory reporting. Demonstrating sound judgment, professionalism, and composure is essential when addressing complex situations and interacting with stakeholders.
