About The Position
Our electrical contracting company is seeking a Controller to take ownership of our financial operations and help guide the business into its next phase of growth. This role is for a strategic financial leader who thrives in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Controller or senior accounting leader
- Deep understanding of job costing, WIP schedules, overhead burden and construction accounting principles
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate numbers into actionable insights
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
- A collaborative leader who communicates clearly and confidently
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Nice To Haves
- Construction or electrical contracting experience strongly preferred
- Knowledge of Foundation Software and Payroll4 Construction a plus
Responsibilities
- Oversee all accounting functions, including AP/AR, payroll, job costing, and month-end close
- Develop and maintain accurate financial reporting, budgets, and forecasts
- Implement strong internal controls and ensure compliance with industry standards
- Partner with project managers and leadership to analyze job performance and profitability
- Optimize financial systems, processes, and workflows
- Manage banking relationships, insurance, bonding, and audits
- Lead and mentor a small accounting team
- Provide back-up to other departments and staff, as necessary
