This position is responsible for managing the Company’s day-to-day compliance and reporting of financial matters and collaborating with the Vice President of Finance in overseeing the financial affairs of the Company. Working closely with the members of the Leadership Team and Management Team, this position is responsible for informing and assisting the Leadership Team and Management Team to enable them to manage the day-to-day operations and administration of the Company. This position must maintain the highest degree of integrity, trust and confidence, avoiding even the mere appearance of impropriety. This is a highly visible position inside and outside the Company and must be seen as ‘putting the Company first.’

Requirements

  • A minimum of 15 years’ experience in Accounting management.
  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience related specifically to Essential Functions.
  • Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Accounting.
  • Master’s degree in Accounting.
  • CPA certification

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the CFO to ensure consistent and harmonious direction and guidance in Accounting, Finance, Risk Management and Treasury.
  • Undertake detailed financial analysis and make informed recommendations.
  • Collaborate and work with the Vice President of Finance to develop and maintain personnel morale, team spirit and confidence.
  • Provide the Executive Team advice and guidance; general and specific, as warranted or requested.
  • Collaborate with the Vice President of Finance to mentor, coach and train the accounting team; motivating and empowering team members and the team as a whole to grow (personally and professionally).
  • Protect and safeguard the assets, employees, name and reputation of the Company.
  • Manage and monitor all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements as well as the requirements of financial institutions, investors and third-party contracts.
  • Establish and maintain financial and operating benchmarks, budgets, program monitoring, and reporting standards on a bi-weekly, monthly, and annual basis.
  • Planning, directing and coordinating all accounting operational functions
  • Managing the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for accurate and timely production of interim financial results and Financial Statements.
  • Provide comprehensive financial updates to senior management by evaluating, analyzing, and reporting appropriate data points.
  • Lead and support merger and acquisition (M&A) activities, including financial due diligence, integration planning, and post-acquisition financial reporting.
  • Assist with capital raises, lender and investor reporting, financing negotiations, and related financial presentations.
  • Oversee and manage the external Audit of the Company
  • Implement consistent accounting policies, practices, and procedures across all programs, upholding federal, state, and local legal and tax standards by remaining knowledgeable about existing, new and future legislation
  • Develop and enforce internal controls and guidelines to maximize protection of Company assets, policies, procedures, and workflow
  • Guide financial decisions by applying Company policies and procedures to current economic landscape
  • Achieve budgeting goals with proper scheduling, analysis, guidance and corrective action
  • Responsible for overall risk management activities in connection with insurance coverage for Property and Liability.
  • Responsible for day-to-day treasury functions and communication with financial institutions, including compliance and cash management.
  • Responsible for oversight of tax compliance and planning, collaborating with tax advisors.
  • Collaborate with HR and establish, monitor and report specific financial metrics related to the Company’s Safety Program
  • Take ownership of running, developing and controlling the financial systems across the organization.
  • Oversee the day-to-day monitoring, maintaining and updating of the finance systems, as well as contributing to the development and implementation of new systems and control frameworks.
