About The Position

The Controller is a key business leader responsible for accounting, financial planning and analysis, cost control, and internal controls at the company’s manufacturing facility in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. The role partners with operations and sales to position the plant for profitable growth and manages and develops the accounting team. The Controller reports to the CFO. The business is growing and investing in its finance function, giving the Controller influence from day one and opportunities to partner with senior leadership on margin, cost, and capacity decisions. The role may broaden in scope as the company scales.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
At least 8 years of accounting and managerial experience in a manufacturing environment.
Working knowledge of GAAP, cost accounting, inventory, and standard costing.
Experience with a manufacturing ERP.
Proven ability to lead a team and work effectively on both the shop floor and in the boardroom.
Proficiency in MS Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Superior written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

Own the monthly close and deliver timely, accurate financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
Review results and key metrics with senior management, quantify risk, and recommend actions to improve profit and financial position.
Lead the annual business plan and monthly P&L and margin forecasts.
Prepare financial analysis to support customer quoting, capital expenditure, and new-business decisions, and validate return on investment.
Manage working capital, focusing on inventory, receivables, and payables.
Maintain internal controls and support internal and external audits.
Develop, coach, and evaluate the accounting staff.
