About The Position

We have been hired by a 100+ year-old Bay Area HVAC and plumbing company to find an experienced Controller to lead accounting, job costing, and financial reporting for a complex, multi-division operation. They provide services across commercial construction, HVAC, plumbing, engineering, BIM, and service & repair. This role is on-site in Berkeley, CA! The Controller will lead job costing, WIP, and percentage-of-completion accounting, partner with operations on project margins, labor costs, and pricing, and oversee accounting for construction, service, and maintenance agreements. This role will also manage bank scrutiny, new line of credit, and quarterly financial covenants, as well as AR/AP, cash flow forecasting, and internal controls. The Controller will also be responsible for improving systems, reporting, and financial processes.

Requirements

• 8+ years accounting experience
• Experience with $10-20M revenue companies
• Strong cost accounting, WIP, percentage-of-completion, lien release experience
• Experience in HVAC, plumbing, construction, or specialty contracting

Nice To Haves

• Vista Viewpoint software experience preferred
