About The Position

The Controller is responsible for obtaining supplies, masking according to workshop drawings, mixing coating products, and painting steel parts according to project instructions. This role involves adjusting spray equipment, controlling environmental parameters, following inspection procedures, making corrections, and completing necessary documentation. The Controller must also inform the foreman of any issues and comply with the corporate quality management system and industry best practices.

Requirements

• Spoken and written languages: French and English (an asset)
• Technical knowledge: overhead cranes and steel industry
• Ability to work in a team
• Adaptability, autonomy, manual dexterity, initiative, and dynamism
• Organizational, analytical, and responsibility skills

Responsibilities

• Obtaining the appropriate supplies to perform the work according to the tasks to be carried out and the project requirements
• Masking according to workshop drawings
• Mixing the coating product with the paint ratio recommended by the manufacturer and adding the appropriate thinner. Obtaining the correct viscosity
• Painting steel parts according to the project's coating instructions
• Adjusting the pressure and choosing the appropriate spray equipment
• Controlling environmental parameters as needed
• Following and completing the roadmap, calling the inspector when an inspection point is identified
• Making corrections (touch-ups) and repairs when indicated
• Informing the foreman of any problems, defects, necessary corrections, or non-conformities
• Completing the coating product declaration form
• Following the surface coating procedure and using the appropriate forms
• Complying with the requirements of the corporate quality management system (Quality Management Manual, Work Instructions, and applicable forms)
• Applying industry best practices and effective methods to ensure the improvement of our operational performance
• Performing any other related tasks
