The Controller will assist in the development of policy regarding operational, accounting, and auditing practices. This role ensures compliance with IGC regulations as they pertain to span of control and continually monitors the effectiveness of established audit functions, making changes when necessary. The Controller manages the preparation of daily reports and month-end financial statements, including balance sheet account analysis for gaming tax liability, point liability, and allowance for doubtful accounts. This position is also responsible for the preparation and filing of various reports to the Colorado Division of Gaming, establishing procedures to monitor and safeguard company assets, and directly managing key financial departments including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Payroll, Collections, Revenue Audit, Purchasing, and the Count Process. Additionally, the Controller establishes policies, procedures, controls, and records in various accounting areas consistent with company policy and regulations, prepares financial reports and statements, analyzes general ledger accounts, and reviews payroll-related tax reports. The role involves interviewing and evaluating vendors, analyzing their ability to perform, and establishing and monitoring supplier performance standards. Compliance with safety standards and required certifications is also a key responsibility, along with supervising staff and performing employee performance evaluations.
