About The Position

The role of the Controller is to participate, as a member of the division’s Leadership Team, in executing on our Strategic Initiatives while leading the division’s Financial, Purchasing, and Human Resource efforts. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in the fields of Business or Finance
• Prior leadership experience in a manufacturing business.
• Must be adept at embracing and driving change.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven record of commitment to safety in all aspects of the job.
• Proven leadership and team-building abilities.
• Commitment to personal development and the development of others.
• Ability to provide and the courage to implement creative, innovative solutions to problems.
• Strategic business and financial comprehension.
• Must have manager/general manager recommendation and must be able to perform all essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Leadership of the division with direct oversight of the Finance department.
• Uphold Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, Corporate policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Provide long-term strategic planning while delivering near-term results.
• Build, mentor, and develop a high-functioning, cohesive Finance team.
• Actively participate and drive the division’s safety efforts.
• Lead, nurture, and advance the Nucor culture.
• Develop and implement strategies that create an Inclusive and Diverse workplace.
• Align and execute on the Vulcraft – Verco Group enterprise strategies.
