About The Position

Requirements

  • Advanced understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
  • Expertise in advanced Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics GP) and financial close management tools.
  • Ability to interpret complex financial data to generate insights, improve operational efficiency, and drive profitability.
  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is required.
  • B.S. in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field
  • Minimum of 8-10 years related experience including computer and/or business management experience.

  • Most employers require or strongly prefer a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation.

  • 7 to 10 years of accounting or finance experience

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the month-end and year-end close processes, producing accurate balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
  • Assist leadership in developing annual budgets, entering information into software, monitor the budget against actual spending, and identify financial variances.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain internal accounting policies to safeguard company assets, mitigate risk, and prevent fraud.
  • Manages, maintains and mentor the accounting department, including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and payroll staff.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors and ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal tax regulations including 1099s, W-2.
  • Develops, and submits the indirect cost proposal to the federal government for federal contracts.
  • Contract involvement for third party payers.
