About The Position

SBCS has partnered with a motivated professional services company who is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Controller to join their team. As the Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the company. You will work closely with the executive team to ensure the financial health and success of the business.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the engineering or construction industry
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
• Experience managing a team and overseeing financial operations
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software

Nice To Haves

• CPA designation is preferred

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of the company's financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
• Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance and efficiency
• Monitor and analyze financial performance, identifying areas for improvement and making recommendations to the executive team
• Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Manage the company's cash flow, ensuring adequate funds are available for operations and investments
• Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors for annual audits and tax filings
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and maintain accurate financial records
• Lead and mentor a team of accounting professionals, providing guidance and support as needed
• Collaborate with other departments to develop and implement strategies to improve financial performance and reduce costs
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in financial management to continuously improve our processes and procedures
