About The Position

GHJ Search & Staffing is partnering with a growing $200M general contractor in the South Bay that’s looking to bring on a Controller to report directly to the CFO. This is a high-impact, hands-on leadership role overseeing accounting operations across AP, AR, and project accounting — with a strong emphasis on WIP, financial reporting, and team leadership. This role offers direct visibility and partnership with the CFO, an opportunity to elevate and build out the accounting function, involvement in an upcoming ERP implementation (Viewpoint/Vista), and a collaborative, down-to-earth culture with a tenured team. It provides real ownership, allowing the Controller to drive change rather than just report.

Requirements

• Controller or strong Assistant Controller ready to step up
• Experience in construction or project-based accounting
• Strong WIP / job costing background
• Hands-on leader who can roll up their sleeves
• Comfortable working onsite
