The Controller is responsible for all aspects of financial management, including overseeing financial reporting, budgeting, compliance, and analysis to support the strategic decision-making of the organization. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare, review, and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP/IFRS. Provide timely internal financial statements to the leadership team. Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the budgeting process, including forecasting and variance analysis, to guide financial planning and strategic business decisions. Cash Flow Management: Oversee cash flow and ensure liquidity; manage relationships with banks and financial institutions. Internal Controls: Develop, implement, and monitor robust internal controls to ensure the integrity of financial data and mitigate risk. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax filings, sales tax and payroll tax filings as well as other financial reporting requirements. Work closely with and compile data for our tax preparation consultants. Audit Coordination: Manage audits, liaising with external auditors and preparing necessary documentation. Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and develop the accounting team, fostering a collaborative and results-driven environment. Manage and provide hands-on support to all accounting operations including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and General Ledger, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting and Revenue Recognition. Manage Performance: Establishes clear work standards and expectations, monitors performance, motivates employees, utilizes coaching and corrective action when necessary, and conducts performance appraisals on a timely basis. Delegate: Efficiently and appropriately delegates tasks to meet the goals of the organization. Monitors progress on tasks and take action to assure goal accomplishment. Develop Others: Create an environment of support and positive regard for staff. Encourages staff development through self-assessment, skill development, training and learning. Acts as an advocate for staff. Process Improvement: Evaluate, improve, and document accounting processes and systems, leveraging technology to increase efficiency. Strategic Support: Partner with senior leadership to analyze financial performance, support strategic initiatives, and provide actionable insights for growth.
