The Controller is a senior finance leader responsible for managing the agency’s accounting operations and supporting the Chief Financial Officer in the stewardship of public funds. This role oversees the monthly and year-end close processes, preparation of timely and accurate financial statements, budget development, financial analysis, and program-based reporting. The Controller provides hands-on leadership across accounting operations, fiscal controls, internal and external reporting, and audit readiness while serving as a trusted advisor to the CFO and agency leadership. The position is responsible for maintaining accounting and business systems, strengthening reporting tools used for financial statements, payment processing, and budget planning, and ensuring the integrity of financial data. The Controller ensures compliance with internal policies and procedures, applicable Massachusetts and federal requirements, grant and program reporting obligations, generally accepted accounting principles, and governmental accounting standards applicable to public instrumentalities.
